No I don't have a DSP but this shouldn't effect the wiring as the phone transceiver connector (25way D) should be the same. So once I'd made my mind up, I started by getting the 54pin plug from the dealer, as it was on back order, I looked around and came across the same plug used by Audi for there BT module, I ordered the plug and connectors, and they were here within 3 days.ĥ4 Pin connector £1.47 Audi Dealer - Audi p/n 4e0-972-144. Under the cup holders locate black 18 pin connector and connect a push on/off switch (Radioshack carry this for 3 bucks) between pin 1 and 17 Just get the 54 connector from Audi (the part number is in a different forum) and exchange the cables from the 25 connector. This is the CORRECT 25 TO 54 PINOUT the ULFĢ5PIN D Male (as on transceiver) -54PIN ULF PLUG With the parts from Audi you get wires with the crimp terminals already fitted, just cut in half - crimps go in the 54way connector and other end gets soldered to 25way connector.įor the wiring, following the instructions of the thread created by Micro.

You will need to make a lead up to convert your existing phone connector (25way D) to 54pin ULF type connector
#USING NAVCODER WITH E39 SOFTWARE#
I believe that SES can be enabled on some/all units with Navcoder software (also works with INPA interface) and hardware Also check out Navcoder for simulating ibus devices. Using the I-BUS you can do things like posting messages in the dash and using the controls on the steering wheel. I think the only option is voice control (SES) so look for units "MIT SES" i.e with voice control. Bus topology of BMW E39 (and similar models) Close.
#USING NAVCODER WITH E39 INSTALL#
I would like to confirm:Ĥ) Wait a minute or so for sat nav to settle etc.ĥ) in Navcoder, go to 'code, Sat nav, code to defaults' with the colour radio button checkedĦ) wait for navcoder to do what it needs, then install the V32 O/S discħ) Wait for the update and dont touch anything, leave boot & drivers door open.I don't think that the ULF firmware can be updated so you need to choose which generation you want.

Hopefully all this will work - I cant wait to have a decent sat nav rather than the 2002 effort that was in there!Īny advice of the procedure to get this to work is gratefully received. However, this is only available in the registered version - which mine will be soon so I will post back once I give that a go. and I think this could be the solution that I require. There is an option called 'code to default' in Navcoder which requires an O/S disc etc.

I then install the O/S disk which it spits out after around 5 mins with nothing showing on the screen (apart from the TV module running the menu system) However, when I am trying to code the nav unit to become colour, it does not seem to play ball - I have had a few scenarios:ġ) Unit coded to colour succesfully. I have managed to get the resler and navcoder up and running, and I can now see the IBUS activity etc. I am sure KJ will respond shortly as they seem to be very helpful and efficient.Īfter some ignorance on my part RE: COM ports / drivers etc.

#USING NAVCODER WITH E39 TRIAL#
I am still on the trial version and awaiting a auth code which I should get later today. Got my kit last night (resler interface) and downloaded the navcoder software this morning.
